Zach Lazzari's Original Fly Tying Recipes
My original fly tying recipes are based on 14 years of dedicated fly fishing experience. Many of these patterns have evolved over the years with the end result being the simplest forms. All of the flies are hand tied after each order to guarantee fresh materials and an attention to detail.
Orders are typically shipped within one week but waits as long as 2 weeks are possible during the busy summer season. If you need an order expedited for your next trip, shoot me an email and I'll get it done.
All of my flies are tied using high quality materials. These flies will catch fish around the world and will provide a fresh look in pressured waters.
We are not currently accepting fly orders. We will resume orders in the near future and will be adding fly box packages as well. Stay Tuned...
Yankee Clipper
The Yankee Clipper is one of the most productive patterns in my box. The original design was more intricate but after several years of guiding, it was obvious the simplified version executed a higher level of performance.
This fly is an all round, everyday bug that will catch trout around the world. We like it on a slow dead-drift during the cold fishing months and we add a little motion to imitate caddis pupa on warm summer evenings.
Shellback Caddis Larva
This is a simple fly tying recipe that is similar to many other caddis larva searching patterns. This fly is heavy and designed to fish on the bottom.
Pick up a few rocks in your local stream and you are likely to find large caddis larva. Many of the impressions in our boxes are too small to imitate the big grub. This fly fills that void. It works well on a dead drift when insect activity is low. That caddis larva is subject to drift and is an enticing meal for most fish. Dead drift or high stick this fly right on the bottom of riffles and in pocket water.
Hell Raiser Streamer
The Hell Raiser is a smaller streamer that touches the nerve of trout, bass and pike. Bulky streamers are hit and miss and some days they simply put fish off.
The Hell Raiser is small enough that it doesn't push fish out of the way and large enough to invade their space and agitate a strike. This fly has saved the day on more than one occasion and we are surprised by the size of fish it takes on a regular basis.
We tie this fly in a one size fits all version that is capable of pulling big fish out of small and large waters.
