This fly reel has a large arbor, cork drag and sealed bearings. The double pawl makes a unique sound that does not match any other reel and the anti-reverse will save your knuckles on big fish. This reel really is a beautiful piece of equipment with a unique design. It comes with a hefty price tag in the 1,000 dollar range but it is worth the coin if you are a serious big fish angler.

We have not used the Abel Creek reel but positive feedback has come from all around. The reel looks pretty classy and it is available in a standard and large arbor. It has an attractive price at less than 300 dollars for the standard arbor and it uses an adjustable tension click pawl drag system. It is a great looking reel and would be perfect for everyday trout fishing.
The Super Series is an attractive reel. It has a durable cork drag that is easy to adjust. It has sealed bearings and uses the double pawl system. It is available in a standard and large arbor and the spools can be interchanged. Like their other reels, it is made in the USA and is a highly valued product.
This reel is similar to the regular Super Series with the cork drag, sealed bearings and double pawl. The difference comes with the spool. You can back off the drag knob, push in and rotate the center cap to to release the spool from the frame. We think it is a pretty slick design.
We jump on the Abel reels because of the incredible finish options. The brown trout print and the tribal design are two of our favorites.
